What is the Ambleside Difference
Life should be all living, and not merely a tedious passing of time; not all doing or all feeling or all thinking – the strain would be too great – but all living; that is to say, we should be in touch wherever we go, whatever we hear, whatever we see, with some manner of vital interest. The question is not – how much does the youth know when he has finished his education – but how much does he care?

This sums up the Ambleside difference — our students and staff are intentional to “be in touch with some manner of vital interest” wherever we go. What does this look like? From a highly developed habit of attention, we are almost compelled to take notice, to attend, to care.
If we were to meet God in Heaven right now, wouldn’t we want to be able to talk with Him about His creation and how we recognized Him while on our earthly journey – knowing the names of the birds and the constellations and those great writers and artists whom he called and endowed with extraordinary gifts that demonstrate His hand – the hand of our Creator and Father?
